GMC reg: 2339771Dr Northcote has over 25 years experience as a Consultant Cardiologist. After graduating from the University of Glasgow, he completed General Professional Training in Scotland and went on to complete a Research Fellowship studying the effect of B Blockers in patients with angina. This led to the award of an MD. He has also published widely in the international medical press on a variety of cardiology topics with a particular interest in the effect of exercise on the heart and the causes of sudden death during exercise. He has an interest in Medical Education and regularly contributes lectures to groups in primary and secondary care. Between 2009-2016 he was Registrar of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and developed a number of Postgraduate educational events under the College banner. He is available for consultation at a number of centres in Central Scotland including BMI Ross Hall Hospital, Glasgow Nuffield Hospital, BMI Kings Park Hospital in Stirling and BMI Carrick Glen Hospital in Ayr.
Interventional cardiology
All aspects of general Cardiology. Most of my patients present with symptoms which can include breathlessness, chest pain, palpitations and blackouts. I have a special interest in the cardiac effects of exercise and how exercise can be used in the therapy of patients with heart conditions.
