GMC reg: 6052025Dr Richard Ang is a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at Barts Heart Centre and Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London. He specialises in the management of patients with heart rhythm conditions. He performs ablation procedures for a wide range of heart rhythm disturbances including atrial fibrillation and SVTs, and implants pacemaker and defibrillator devices. Dr Ang completed his medical training at Barts and the London Medical School, the University of London in 2002 with distinction and prizes. Dr Ang undertook his medical and cardiology training at major teaching hospitals in London. He was awarded the prestigious Medical Research Council Fellowship to study how the brain controls heart rhythm activity for his PhD at University College London with the aim of translating this into treatment for heart rhythm disorders. His research has been published in leading medical and scientific journals. He is currently the clinical lead for SVT ablation procedures at Barts Heart Centre and sits on regional committees to improve the delivery of heart rhythm care in London. Dr Ang sees his private patients at the One Heart Clinic in Harley Street, and the HCA Wellington Hospital.
