Dr Paul Southern

Dr Paul Southern was appointed as a consultant Gastroenterologist / Hepatologist to Bradford Teaching Hospitals in 2008, he carried out his undergraduate training at the University of Leeds, and also completed postgraduate training within the Yorkshire Deanery. Dr Southern spent seven years working in the Leeds transplant unit and its associated intensive care unit, pursuing research in molecular pathology and acute liver failure, gaining a MD in the genetics of hepatocellular carcinoma. His current interests include all aspects of Gastroeneterology and Hepatology and he is Trust Lead for Alcohol, is a core member of the regional Liver & Gallbladder cancer MDT, hosted at St. James's University Hospital Leeds each week and is also the Trusts Chief Clinical Information Officer.
