GMC reg: 4682873An accomplished consultant physician in Acute and General Medicine, Endocrinology and Diabetes, within the HCA and BUPA Cromwell Hospitals. A strong background as a consultant in the NHS has enabled a successful transition to private practice, where more time can be spent using specialist skills to help patients and where clinical support services are timely and efficient. Has a strong research background, including an MSc in Endocrinology and Diabetes at King’s; also at King’s, valuable research in the Diabetic Foot Clinic, with results presented internationally. Having successfully competed and secured a substantial NIHR CLAHRC research grant, has undertaken research into the management of the diabetic foot, results of which are soon to be published. Has undertaken additional training in the field of reproductive endocrinology at UCLH and obtained a postgraduate award in insulin pump therapy from Warwick University. Lectures GPs; is trained in appraisal, teaching, audit, governance, and has good experience as a member of the RCP question writing group. Uses problem-based learning techniques, underpinned by formal learning in education and training methodology. Working in the private sector has allowed her to provide the best care, free of some of the constraints of the NHS. Holds strong beliefs that private practice is about service, consultant availability, and the freedom to be part of a multi disciplinary team. Patient reviews are excellent, citing impressive results, responsiveness and the feeling that this consultant will always go the extra mile. A strong, logical leader; an effective team player in the wider team; hard-working, conscientious and sensitive to the views of patients (who consistently give excellent feedback), relatives and members of the MDT.
