Dr Naushad Junglee

I am a Consultant in Nephrology and Acute General Medicine and perform my clinical duties at several locations within South-East Wales. I am also Clinical Lead for Acute Medicine at the University Hospital Llandough. Following qualification in 2004, I received training in numerous medical specialties in South Wales and Cambridge before entering the All-Wales Nephrology Higher Training Scheme in 2008. I completed my specialist training in 2016 in both Nephrology and Acute General Medicine.  I am happy to consult in all areas of kidney disease including dialysis and transplantation. As I also hold accreditation in general medicine and I am comfortable in providing consultation in specialisms outside my own. I am also available for medico-legal work. I have a particular interest in kidney disorders related to exercise and exertional heat injury as this was the subject of my PhD research. My work is internationally recognised and I have published and presented my findings in the USA, Far East and Europe. I continue to peer-review research in these areas and use my expertise to help sportsmen, sportswomen and occupations at-risk such as the Fire Service. I have a keen interest in medical educations too, andd contribute regularly to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching / supervision programs at Cardiff University. In 2018, I was made examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and in 2019 I was elected as a Fellow.
