Dr Malcolm Prentice

Dr Malcolm Prentice is a Consultant in Endocrinology, Diabetes and General Medicine with a special interest in thyroid diseases. He trained at King's College Hospital and has a BSc in Pharmacology from King's College, London. He has over twenty years' experience of inpatient and outpatient management of endocrinology, diabetes and general medicine. He was one of the first in the UK to set up a one-stop Thyroid Nodule Clinic with ultrasound and biopsy in 1990. He initiated the National Training Course for Thyroid Ultrasound and Biopsy jointly with the support of the Royal College of Radiologists, which he has run since 2005. He is the co-author of the National Guidelines for the Management of Differentiated Thyroid Cancer (Editions 1 & 2). He is ARSAC licensed for radioactive iodine treatment of thyrotoxicosis and goitre. He is a member of the UK Iodine Group. He is a member of British Thyroid Association (former Secretary and Treasurer), Society for Endocrinology (UK), European Thyroid Association, European Endocrine Society, Endocrine Society (USA), American Thyroid Association, Diabetes UK, Association of British Clinical Diabetologists.
