Dr Louise Fearfield

Dr Louise Fearfield is a Consultant Dermatologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital (CWH) with an interest in skin cancer and cutaneous oncology. She did her medical training at Oriel College Oxford and St Thomas’ Hospital London, qualifying as a doctor in 1992. From 2010-2022 she was appointed to a joint Consultant post between CWH and The Royal Marsden Hospital (RMH). In 2018-20 she was elected to the national role of Clinical Vice President of the British Association of Dermatology (BAD) during which time she became heavily involved in developing national guidance for Dermatology working throughout the UK during the COVID pandemic. Since 2010 she has published papers on her work related to cutaneous toxicities associated with the newer therapies used in the treatment of cancer. Having become a national expert in this field she has been an invited speaker at numerous national and international meetings winning several coveted awards for her research. At CWH she is the Research Lead for the department and was part of the group that won the British Medical Journal Dermatology Team of the year in 2020 for their innovative teledermatology skin cancer service. She continues to develop this valuable diagnosis tool which is now looking into how artificial intelligence can aid in this important work.
