Dr Kyriacos Kyriakides

I graduated Bristol University Medical School in 1985. Between 1985-1999 I worked in several N.H.S Teaching Hospitals (Bristol, Birmingham, Sheffield and Nottingham) during which I gained my general medical training and later specialized in Anaesthesia and Pain Management. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (F.R.C.A) and a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anesthetists (F.F.P.M.R.C.A). I am fully registered with the General Medical Council (G.M.C) in London. In 1999, I was appointed as a full time N.H.S Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at the Bradford Teaching Hospitals N.H.S Foundation Trust where I am still practicing. I am married to a part-time General Practitioner and I have 3 grown up children.

My Special Clinical Interest includes the Pain Management of a range of different Chronic Painful Syndromes including: 1. Musculoskeletal Syndromes (e.g. Spinal Pain, Neck/Arm Pain, Low Back/Leg Pain, Chest wall Pain) 2. Neuropathic Syndromes (e.g. Failed Back Surgery Syndromes, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) 3. Post-Surgical Chronic Pain 4. Visceral Pain Syndromes (Chronic Abdominal, Pelvic and Perineal Pain) I strongly believe and practice in holistic, multidisciplinary, patient-tailored care based on the bio-psychosocial model which includes among others various therapeutic options such as patient education, physiotherapy/rehabilitation, psychological support, use of various analgesics as well as Interventional Pain Procedures ("injections"). I am a very experienced clinician in Neuromodulation (Spinal Cord and Sacral Nerve Stimulation). With my other 5 Pain Consultant Colleagues we hold regular MDT Pain Meetings to discuss and plan the further clinical management of difficult clinical problems thus ensuring best clinical care for our Patients.
