Dr Isabella Syndikus

Dr Syndikus studied medicine in Munich, Germany and qualified in 1986: her MD was completed the same year. After working 4 years in General Medicine, her Oncology training began in 1990 in the Royal Marsden Hospital, subsequently at the UCLH London and BC Cancer Agency, Vancouver Canada. Since 1996 she works as Consultant in Clinical Oncology in Merseyside. She has a large cancer prostate and bladder practice and is clinical lead for the Urology Group. Her research interests include clinical trials, dose painting radiotherapy and IGRT for localised prostate cancer. She is chief investigator for the PIVOTALboost trial, and since 2020, the CHHiP trial; both are large phase III prostate radiotherapy trials in the UK. She is currently Director of Education in CCC and has been examiner for the part I FRCR examination, has been teaching radiobiology on the Biology of Cancer module, University of Liverpool and was external examiner for the MSc course in Oncology, University of London. Her hobbies are her garden, ski mountaineering, walking and rock climbing
