Dr Hadi Manji

Dr Hadi Manji qualified in medicine in 1982 from Trinity Hall Cambridge and Middlesex Hospital. After training in General Practice in Edinburgh for 2 years, he went back to hospital medicine. He trained in Neurology at the National Hospital for Neurology, Queen Square, London, the Royal Free Hospital and L'Hopital Kremlin Bicetre, Paris. He was appointed Consultant Neurologist to the National Hospital, Queen Square and Ipswich Hospital in 1997. His neurological interests are in General Neurology (headaches, dizziness, tremor), peripheral nerve disorders and infections of the nervous system including COVID 19. He is Senior author and editor of the Oxford Handbook of Neurology (20,000 copies sold), used by neurological trainees and Consultants worldwide. He has 116 publications on a range of topics including Covid 19, HIV infection, peripheral nerve disorders. He was President of the Neurosciences Section of the Royal Society of Medicine (2019 - 2020) and is currently Chairman of the the Medical Committee at the National Hospital for Neurology. In 2022, he was appointed Honorary Associate Professor at University College London (UCL) In May 2022, he was awarded the Association of British Neurologists medal for services to National And International Neurology. In October 2023, Dr Manji was invited to give a plenary lecture at the World Congress of Neurology in Montreal, Canada on the subject of 'Neurology of Pandemic Infections'.
