Dr Ghazanfar Ali

I qualified in 1984 and after my initial training in Pakistan, came to UK for further training. I obtained my membership from Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. I have been trained both in general internal medicine and gastroenterology. I have worked in various hospital in Northwest during my training and have been working in gastroenterology at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary, Wigan since 2002. I have passed gastroenterology speciality exam. I have been trained as appraiser and has also obtained accreditation as medical teacher. I practice general gastroenterology with speciality interest in hepatology. I am tutor to 3rd year medical students and have been awarded fellowship of Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in 2019. I have been clinical governance lead for gastroenterology and have keen interest in service improvements and improving patient care. I am appraised annually since 2002 and keep myself abreast with advances in medical advances.

1) Liver diseases 2) Irritable Bowel Syndrome, gastro-oesophageal reflux and dyspepsia 3) Inflammatory Bowel disease 4) Pancreatic disorders 5) gastrointestinal bleeding disorders. I gained experience and trained both in general internal medicine and have been practicing in gastroenterology since 2003.I have a vast experience in all gastrointestinal problems with sub-speciality interest in liver disease. I have kept my knowledge up to date with participation in continuing medical education and professional development. I am appraised annually. I have interest in medical education and teach medical students from Manchester medical school. I have recently been awarded fellowship by Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.
