GMC reg: 3561795Liz qualified from Nottingham University in 1991 and has been working as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Whipps Cross University Hospital since 2002. Her main specialist areas of interest are in inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome (including a dietary approach), colonoscopy and gastroscopy. Liz completed her research thesis after a period of work in the laboratory and using clinical trials with Professor David Rampton and qualified MD University of London in 2001.Liz has a longstanding interest in the education of students and postgraduate doctors. She is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Queen Mary & Westfield College University of London. As well as being a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London she is an examiner for the clinical exams for doctors who wish to become members of that college. She has a special interest in training and education of doctors for the future and has been a Training Programme Director, Chair of the Core Medical Training Committee for NE Thames and Director of Medical Education at Whipps Cross University Hospital. This year she was appointed as Deputy Postgraduate Dean at Health Education England. She is also one of three authors of a best selling text for medical students called Pass Finals. Liz is able to offer private patients an "All Female Medical and Nursing Service in Theatres" on request for those patients seeking a more discreet and female environment during their endoscopy and would welcome the opportunity of explaining this to her patients in clinic when booking the procedure. She also wishes to reassure her privately insured patients that her charges will comply within their insurer's guidelines. Liz also offers intravenous sedation to her private patients undergoing gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy where appropriate, to provide minimal patient discomfort during their procedure.
