Dr Calum Lyon

Dr Lyon has worked at the Nuffield York hospital continuously since 2001. He has a clinic on a Monday each week and an occasional Saturday morning. For the rest of the week Dr Lyon works as an NHS consultant at York Hospital and Malton Hospital. Dr. Calum Lyon graduated from the university of Cambridge in 1991 and trained in dermatology at the Salford Royal Hospital in Manchester. He undertook extended training in dermatological surgery, contact allergy and prick testing. He was appointed Dermatologist in York 2001, developing a special interest in skin lesions including cancer, skin surgery and stoma dermatology. He also works in the University of Manchester dermatology department in Salford Royal one day a month in a specialist dermatology clinic associated with inflammatory bowel disease and stomas. He is an honorary clinical lecturer in York and Manchester and teaches medical students and junior doctors. He lectures nationally and internationally on skin conditions affecting stomas. Research Dr. Lyon has published over 100 articles in peer reviewed journals, contributed chapters to 4 major dermatology textbooks and has published a skin atlas of skin diseases affecting abdominal stomas.
