GMC reg: 6121410Dr Bassam Alchi, PhD FRCP is a Consultant Nephrologist at the BMI Princess Margaret Hospital, Royal Berkshire Hospital and Wexham Park Hospital. He qualified with distinction from Mosul University/Iraq in 1991. He was awarded a scholarship from Japanese Ministry of Education, which allowed him to complete his PhD on kidney transplant rejection at Niigata University/Japan in 2006. He trained on all aspects of general nephrology at Cambridge University Hospitals. He also spent time at Queen Elizabeth Hospital/Birmingham and the Lister Hospital. He has particular interest in glomerular diseases. He is the clinical lead for glomerulonephritis and APKD services at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. He has strong interest in clinical research . He has been principle investigator of several clinical trials. He has published over 30 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has written chapter in the Oxford Textbook of Clinical Nephrology.
