Dr Anju Sinha

I have been a Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Cardiff and Vale UHB since June 2009 and am currently the Gynae Lead. Specialist training in various deaneries like Leeds, Nottingham and South Wales has given me a broad experience and exposure to different techniques and philosophies of treatment. I completed my specialist training in Cardiff in 2008 and took up a Clinical Lecturer's post at the UHW before commencing my consultant post. I have completed a MSc in Obstetrics and Gynaecological Ultrasound from Cardiff University with distinction. This has helped me in the one-stop management of many gynaecological conditions. I run the Pelvic Mass Clinic to manage suspicious ovarian masses. I have great interest in teaching and training and was the local supervisor for ultrasound training. My other interests include the management of menstrual disorders, management of fibroids, early pregnancy problems, out patient operative procedures and minimal access surgery.  In addition to major laparoscopic and abdominal open surgery, I also do a lot of outpatient procedures.

My special interests are  - Menstrual disorders  - Pelvic Masses (fibroids and ovarian cysts)  - Pelvic pain My private sector work mirrors my NHS practice and my chief area of interest are the diagnosis and management of pelvic masses, ovarian pathology (In the NHS I run the Pelvic Mass Clinic, a rapid access clinic for suspicious ovarian masses, an experience I carry over to my private work), management of uterine fibroids, menstrual disorders and their management and also dealing with pelvic pain.  The surgical procedures that I carry out include Total abdominal Hysterectomy; Total laparoscopic Hysterectomy; Vaginal Hysterectomy; Laparoscopic assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy; Laparoscopic procedures for Endometriosis; Ovarian Cysts; Infertility; Hysteroscopic Resection of fibroids and polyps; Endometrial ablation. I work closely with a Gynae Oncology Surgeon and use the services of a leading expert of Ultrasonography in my work.
