GMC reg: 6098113Dr George completed his early medical training at the Oxford deanery (foundation year training) and Wessex deanery (core medical training). He was awarded an MD postgraduate research degree by the University of Hull and York on his research on the prevalence of glucometabolic disorders in acute coronary syndrome and their prognostic influence in the long-term cardiovascular outcome. He then completed his cardiology training in the Northern Ireland Deanery, where he sub-specialised in coronary intervention during the last two years. He also completed the prestigious Bournemouth Advanced Interventional Cardiology Fellowship programme. He was then appointed as a consultant cardiologist at the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital in August 2018. Dr George has actively been involved in clinical research and has published numerous papers in leading national and international journals. He has also presented papers at various national and international conferences. He also leads the hypertension service in Exeter and manages patients with complex and difficult to treat high blood pressure along with providing screening for secondary hypertension. He participates in the service providing 24 hour treatment for heart attack and also performs procedures like coronary angiography, right heart catheterisation, percutaneous coronary intervention (stent implantation). He particularly specialises in complex cases of stent implantation and has experience in performing these techniques with the use of latest imaging modalities, atherectomy techniques and minimal or zero contrast.

Cardiology - Interventional Cardiology
Managing patients with chest pain, breathlessness, palpitation and heart murmurs. Management of high blood pressure, including cases which are treatment resistant and high blood pressure at a young age. Performing procedures like coronary angiography, right heart catheterisation, percutaneous coronary intervention (stent implantation) including performing the complex PCI using techniques using the latest modalities like coronary imaging, pressure wire assessment, rotational atherectomy and minimal or zero contrast intervention. Arranging and interpreting investigations like echocardiogram, cardiac monitoring, 24 hour BP monitoring, exercise stress testing and ECGs. Assessing patients to provide a general cardiovascular health and provide evidence based recommendations for improvement.
