Dr Andrew Thillainayagam

Dr Andrew Thillainayagam is one of London's top consultant physicians, specialising in gastroenterology. After graduating from the University of Manchester Medical School, he undertook his higher medical training at the reputable St Bartholomew's and St Mark's Hospitals in London, and the John Radcliffe Hospital and Royal Berkshire Hospital in the Oxford area. Always aiming to give the best service to his patients, he makes use of cutting-edge techniques and technologies, and is at the forefront of the field of interventional endoscopy. Respected among his peers, he is chairman of the NW Thames Gastroenterology Group, and has been lead clinician for cancer of the upper gastrointestinal tract at Cancer Services Collaborative (West London Cancer Network) and Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust. As well as working at the prestigious London Clinic and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, he also finds the time to manage an undergraduate teaching firm and coordinate the curriculum on gastroenterology at the Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College. He has also written extensively on the subject of gastroenterology, with publications in prominent peer-reviewed journals. Dr Thillainayagam's clinical interests include therapeutic endoscopy, complex functional disorders of the digestive system, hepatopancreaticobiliary medicine, and inflammatory bowel disease. At present, he is researching into cholangiocarinoma, iron deficiency anaemia, endoscopic imaging, bile salt malabsorption, and more.
