Mr Christopher Lewis

Mr Lewis is an NHS Consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedics at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. His specialist interest lies in primary and revision hip and knee replacements. Having undertaken the prestigious Robin Ling Exeter Hip Fellowship in 2023, he also has a specialist interest in Robot Assisted Total Hip Replacements using the MAKO Robot. As a graduate from the University of Leeds in 2011, he has undertaken his foundation, core and then higher surgical training in the Yorkshire & Humber Deanery. During this time he has also acquired an MSc in Medical Engineering, which involved studying how the correct biomechanics and correct implant materials can increase the longevity of joint replacements. Mr Lewis prides himself on treating and respecting patients as individuals and is a great believer in doing the right operation for the right patient for the right reason with the right expectations, which has led to good outcomes and low complication rates.

Having undertaken the prestigious Robin Ling Exeter Hip Fellowship in 2023, he also has a specialist interest in Robot Assisted Total Hip Replacements using the MAKO Robot. His other interest lies in clinical leadership and has previous undertaken a year as a clinical leadership fellow focusing on how human factors and non-technical skills can improve surgical performance and outcomes.
