Miss Cara Baker is a a consultant Upper Gastrointestinal and General surgeon, appointed as NHS consultant in Guy's and St Thomas NHS trust and also practices at HCA London Bridge Hospital. She has a background in Biochemistry and completed a PhD before studying medicine at the Royal Free and UCL Medical school. Following general surgery rotations across London and Surrey she completed her surgical training in 2013, and appointed as a general surgery consultant at Frimley Park Hospital before moving to St Thomas' Hospital in 2015. Her areas of interest and practice include general surgery conditions such as hernias and skin lesions, the management of gallstones as well and diagnosis and treatment of gastrooesophageal reflux and oesophageal and stomach cancer. She performs both open and laparoscopic ' keyhole' surgery as well as upper GI endoscopy.
