Boyle, Natalie

Natalie Boyle is a Consultant Ophthalmologist, currently working in NHS Golden Jubilee. She has been a consultant since 2005, specialising in cataract surgery, paediatric Ophthalmology and Oculomotility, which is the diagnosis and treatment of eye movement disorders and conditions such as squints. Cataract surgery includes the use of Toric intraocular lenses where appropriate. Strabismus (squint) treatments include the use of Botulinum Toxin, prisms and surgery, using an adjustable suture technique if needed. After studying medicine at Edinburgh University, she trained in Ophthalmology in Newcastle Upon Tyne and the West of Scotland. Subspecialist training in Oculomotility and Paediatric Ophthalmology was at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.  Current consultant duties include high volume cataract surgery at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital. Her outcomes and complication rate are well below national standards, for both cataract and strabismus surgery.
