Mr Antony Raymond is a specialist hip and knee surgeon with interests in joint replacement, sports injuries, and keyhole surgery. He trained in the UK and did additional specialist training in Australia and the USA. Antony did his surgical training at the University College London Hospital Programme. He gained experience in complex joint replacement at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and major trauma surgery at the Royal London Hospital. Antony subsequently won the Orthopaedic Trauma Association fellowship to the busiest trauma centre in the USA; Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas. He completed an observership at the Hospital for Special Surgery (America’s top hospital), in New York for hip arthroscopy. Antony returned to complete the hip surgery fellowship at Royal Bournemouth Hospital and then secured the Perth Sports Surgery Fellowship with Dr Peter D’Alessandro (Australia’s leading sports surgeon) where he focussed on arthroscopic hip and knee surgery. He also developed advanced skills in hip and knee replacement surgery on the Fremantle arthroplasty fellowship under Professor Piers Yates in Perth. Antony is a Consultant at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Trust, where he focuses on hip surgery and lower-limb sports and trauma surgery. Outside medicine, Antony enjoys rugby, kitesurfing, surfing and yoga.
