Mr Antonios Koumousidis

I have specialized in Obstetrics and Gynaecology for 13 years, and I have been working as Consultant O&G at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust since 2020. I have a special interest and high expertise in performing gynaecological transvaginal ultrasound scan and a wide experience in the field of benign gynaecology. I am certified in hysteroscopy and in laparoscopy. I have a wide experience in the diagnosis and management of endometriosis, fibroids, pelvic pain, menstrual disorders, abnormal uterine bleeding and menopause. I am experienced in performing major open surgeries and hysterectomies. I am also developed skills in the early detection of gynaecological cancer. I am dedicated in following up my patients from the initial diagnosis of a gynaecological problem, via transvaginal ultrasound scan and associated investigations he performs, until the treatment options I may offer, and the recovery period afterwards. I am a medical appraiser and an educational supervisor and hold a diploma in Medical Education. I lead the acute gynaecology service and the early pregnancy unit in East Sussex (Conquest and Eastbourne District Hospital) and have developed the Acute Gynaecology Unit (AGU) in the Conquest Hospital. I have developed the preterm labour clinic cross-site in the NHS Trust. As the audit lead in the O&G department, I am dedicated in the development of the best services and quality improvement projects.
