I am a Consultant Surgeon at Guy's & St Thomas' hospital in London, one of the largest Upper Gastro-intestinal units in the UK where we perform a high volume of surgery for cancer (oesophageal and stomach cancer) as well as benign conditions (gallstones, hernia repair, reflux surgery). I have a particular interest in keyhole (laparoscopic) surgery and lead our unit's research group which involves participating in a number of world leading collaborations and conducting numerous clinical studies. These currently include oesophageal cancer staging, prehabilitation (preparing patients for major surgery with physical training) and a national (UK) trial looking at how we investigate gallstones before surgery. I have published widely in many fields of upper GI surgery and have been an invited speaker at numerous national and international conferences. I have close ties with King's College London as an Associate Professor. I aim to deliver high quality private surgical care to London, Surrey and Hampshire. We work closely as a team to improve patient care. My private practice is based at London Bridge hospital, Spire Clare Park (Farnham, Hampshire), Nuffield Guildford and St Thomas' hospital.
