Professional profile I specialise in sutureless cataract surgery (including advanced intra-ocular lens implantation), corneal grafting (both full thickness and more advanced partial thickness lamellar grafting), and eyelid surgery such as eyelid cyst removal, correction for droopy or saggy eyelids, in-turning/out-turning eyelids, and dry eyes.
I graduated from the University of Leeds in 1996. I have undertaken both the basic and advanced surgical training in ophthalmology in the Yorkshire region. I then developed my sub-specialty interests in Cornea and Oculoplastic (Eyelid) surgery by undertaking a super specialised fellowship programme at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital & Leeds General Infirmary. I am particularly well qualified, having performed in excess of 13,000 ophthalmic operations (including over 5,000 small-incision sutureless cataract/lens surgery and 4,000 eyelid surgery).
I have presented in excess of 25 papers in national and international academic meetings. Some of these have been published in prestigious peer-reviewed journals (including Ophthalmology, Eye and Archives of Ophthalmology).
I was the winner of the Best Academic Paper Presentation Prize at the North of England Ophthalmological Society Annual Meeting and the Yorkshire Regional Brian Harcourt Best Poster Presentation Prize in 2006. Professional memberships
