Mr. Bardan is an enthusiastic Ophthalmologist. Following basic and higher specialty training in Egypt, he Joined the team at Sussex Eye Hospital, Brighton for a two-and-a-half-year fellowship in Cornea andAnterior Segment diseases. In 2021, he was appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmologist by St James University Hospital, Leeds. Aside from having a wide range of experience in the management of complex and challenging cataract cases, using premium and multifocal intraocular lenses, he is also an experienced laser and lens refractive surgeon. Certified by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists as a refractive surgeon through obtaining certificate of laser refractive surgery (CertLRS) Did Master of Science in Ophthalmology studying the use of the new laser technology in wavefront customised refractive correction of complex eyes. Obtained PhD in Ophthalmology from Alexandria University in Egypt studying combined cataract surgery with the novel Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK) techniques. Studied and passed fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth) exams, fellowship of the Royal College of Edinburgh (FRCSEd) Has contributed to national and international courses and workshops on cataract surgery, laser refractive surgery, immediate sequential bilateral cataract surgery, anterior lamellar and endothelial keratoplasty techniques.
